Welcome to the Kalamazoo Lake and Harbor web portal. This site is maintained by scientists from the Michigan Tech Research Institute (MTRI).
This site reflects the results of a completed project co-funded by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the local municipalities (Allegan County, Saugatuck, Douglas, Saugatuck Township),
and individual stakeholders to maintain and improve the recreational value of the lake. It serves as a one-stop hub for stakeholders (including elected officials, city managers, scientists,
recreational boaters, and the general public) to understand the historical, ongoing, and future activities related to sustaining Kalamazoo Lake and the adjoining river system as a viable healthy harbor community.
This site includes a suite of interactive maps, recent and historic contaminant testing results, and up-to-date information on issues relevant to stakeholders
(i.e., water levels). If you have any questions about the contents of the site, please contact us at shuchman@mtu.edu or krbosse@mtu.edu
The final report for this project as delivered to the funding agencies is available here.
